Patricia DoranPatricia Doran

Born in Detroit, Michigan from a long line of engineers and designers I studied Graphic Arts in college. After serving in the VISTA Program in Kansas City, MO and Olympia, WA where my husband (now of 40 years) and I worked in Community Organization and helped write the Washington State Tenant-Landlord Law. I was then hired by Timberland Regional Library as a Graphic Artist and ran their print plant. When my husband was hired by Washington State Parks in 1975 we moved to Skagit Valley where I became the Skagit Valley College Library Supervisor, Assistant for the NW ESD Gifted Program, and then began working for Skagit County Historical Museum in 1983 and served as Curator/Registrar until 2008 when I was named Interim Director.

My outside interests include serving as Secretary for the LaConner Arts Commission, Chair for the Art's Alive! Committee, member of the Washington Museum Association, former Secretary for the LaConner Arts Foundation and the Anacortes Farmers' Market, and owner of my own art business, pdoran graphics and Live Wires! Jewelry for over 30 years. We live on Lake McMurray with our two cats and lots of wildlife. My daughter, Sarah and her husband Joe will be parents for the first time this year.
